Made in Japan using the maki-e technique, this Sun & Moon mandala marble is made with opaque black glass and pigments for the color. This technique is tedious and requires amazing attention to detail. It’s not often that Masataka carves the entire marble rather than leaving a lens to view the inside, so these are rare.
